Advance Obedience -
American Kennel Club
Canine Good Citizen® Certification
(CGC)
This AKC
program is open to all dogs, pure and mix breed alike.
This is the
most practical type of obedience training and you’ll be able to
use this exercises on a daily basis, in real life situations.
The program
consist of two parts:

one-hour sessions of advanced obedience training.

AKC
Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test,
All dogs who pass the 10-step test may receive a certificate
from the American Kennel Club.

Basic obedience
is a prerequisite.
To receive
the CGC award, dogs take the 10 item Canine Good Citizen Test.
Items on the test include:
Test 1. Accepting a Friendly Stranger
Test 2. Sitting Politely for Petting
Test 3. Appearance and Grooming
Test 4. Out for a Walk (walk on a loose leash)
Test 5. Walking Through a Crowd
Test 6. Sit and Down on Command/Staying in Place
Test 7. Coming When Called
Test 8. Reaction to Another Dog
Test 9. Reactions to Distractions
Test 10. Supervised Separation
There is no age limit for the CGC test. A dog is never too old
to be a good citizen. Puppies who have completed all
immunizations and boosters may be tested |
