Behavior Modification

Caution: Dog behavioral problems do not get better with time, Unless you are actively working on changing them i.e doing a behavior modification program. Trying to live with the dog’s problems or ignoring them won’t make them go away.

The longer a dog is allowed to misbehave the longer and more difficult it will be to change it.

I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of canine behavioral problems, such as: Aggression, separation anxiety, fearful behavior, specific phobias, destructive & excessive behaviors.

My 4 step Behavior Modification Program

1. The owner(s) must complete an extensive, 12 page behavioral history questionnaire, designed by Cornell University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. The questionnaire is offered free of charge, please contact me if you’d like to receive it.

2. If a medical/physical condition is suspected as being a contributor to the problem behavior, further examination and testing must be performed by the owner's veterinarian.

3. A behavior modification program designed specifically for your dog.

A demonstration of how to avoid, reduce and correct your dog's problem behavior.

You'll receive a customized written behavior modification program for your dog's as well as a package of handouts about your dog's behavior and ways to modify it.

4. Phone follow-ups for the first 3 months once every 10 days ( at no additional charge).

Important:

  1. Have realistic expectations-  For the success of the program you'll have to invest some of your time and energy.
  1. No quick fixes-  Unfortunately, there are no quick fixes or over night changes.  The longer the dog has displayed the behavior, the longer it will take for you to change the behavior.
